Content has acquired Story / Teller for international sales, with producers sharing the North American rights. Alice Eve and Liev Schreiber star in the psychological thriller directed by Mark Pellington (Arlington Road, U2 3D). The story is set in a world of secrets, guilt and paranoia. Arnold Rifkin (The Whole Ten Yards) and Norm Reiss (The Mothman Prophecies) produce.
Rifkin said: “As Story/Teller is Mark’s passion project, the opportunity to collaborate with him in bringing his vision to the screen has been an extremely creative and rewarding journey.”
Content Film president Jamie Carmichael added: “Mark is an extraordinarily compelling director – and he has a really powerful vision for Story / Teller. Needless to say he’s attracted a wonderful cast too – we’re thrilled to have Alice and Liev on board.”

According co-producer, Marc D. Evans, The Raven will make it’s theatrical debut March 9, 2012 and will be distributed by Relativity Media. Luke Evans, one of the films stars gave teased reporters about what fans can expect:
“They’re kind of playing with factual history. It’s set in the last few days of Poe’s life, when he was unaccounted for, for some period of time, before he turned up incoherent and died shortly after. Our story takes that and accounts for what happened. It starts with his return to Baltimore in this period. About the same time a series of killings starts, and the killer is using Poe’s stories as inspiration. So Poe is first a suspect and must work with a Baltimore police inspector to solve a series of crimes, not just to clear to clear his name, but because his fiancée is kidnapped. We took a little bit of artistic license!”

Producer Mark D. Evans had lots to say plot-wise about James McTeigue’s upcoming flick The Raven starring John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe, Ewan McGregor, Luke Evans and Alice Eve. Check out the fresh info courtesy of Screen Daily below:
“Historically what happened was Poe had disappeared, then turned up on a park bench in someone else’s clothes, fell into a coma and died,” said Evans. “We’re playing with the historical happenstance of what could have happened in those missing days.”
The Raven begins with Poe (played by Cusack) arriving in Baltimore as a serial killer is terrorizing the city, using the writer’s stories as the inspiration for his crimes. Poe is a suspect at first, but he eventually joins forces with a police inspector to solve the crimes and save the woman he loves.
“It’s hard to replicate 1849 Baltimore in Baltimore,” he continued. “It became apparent that we’d have to create our own vision of the city. James [McTeigue, director] was trying to show Baltimore through Poe’s eyes, which is a darker, macabre vision of the city. That gave us some creative latitude to look domestically and internationally for a location that would allow us to get as much money on the screen as possible.”
