In ‘Men in Black 3,’ Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind. Alongside Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, ‘Men In Black 3′ also stars Alice Eve, Jemaine Clement, Bill Hader, Michael Stuhlbarg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Emma Thompson. The film arrives in cinemas May 25th. Look out for a more in-depth interview with both Josh Brolin and Alice Eve closer to the films release date. Brolin plays Young Agent K, while Eve plays Young Agent O.
I read you’ve watched the first ‘Men In Black’ a tonne of times……
Josh Brolin: I’ve watched the first one so many times, probably 45 or 50 times – not exaggerating, I’ve seen it a lot (laughs)! And for me it’s always enjoyable, honestly, it’s one of those things where you don’t have to study, you can just kind of kick back and marvel at Tommy Lee Jones’ cadence and Will Smith’s energy. But then the second one is different, it’s almost like they’re different characters, it’s a very funny thing. So I always went back to the first one. When they offered me the part, I immediately said no, because how are you going to break up the iconic, you know, one of the great, iconic duos in movie history. That’s how I feel, at least.
How was it for you working with Will Smith and Josh Brolin while they were re-finding and finding their characters? Also, how was it working with Emma Thompson.
Alice Eve: It was amazing to have rehearsal time with Will Smith and Josh Brolin, to see them find their characters and Will re-finding his character. So the environment was incredibly creative. It was incredibly collaborative. Will would joke around, rap for us, then that would break tension and we would start working again. It was a lot of fun. Emma Thompson is a powerhouse herself, she’s an incredibly intelligent woman, I mean, the only woman, if not the only person to win an Oscar for both screenwriting and performing. And she really brings that energy to the screen, the intelligence.
A big part of the previous ‘Men In Black’ films was the chemistry between Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. How did you build your own chemistry with Will?
Josh Brolin: When the camera roles, something happens. It was very nice, I hadn’t felt that with a lot of people. Usually you have to act at acting well. With Will Smith and I, something just happens when those cameras start rolling. And we’re very different people, but I think we are both very mischievous in our own way (laughs), so we were having fun with this kind of back and forth, cat and mouse thing. But it’s not a cat and mouse, it’s something different. It was follying, it was a lot of fun! We created our own thing so it became less about how am I going to do Tommy Lee Jones, more in finding a rendition of Tommy, and then making it our own, “Maybe K was this? Maybe he was happier back then? Maybe K is the lighter one, and maybe Will Smith’s J has gotten used to the K in the future and when he goes back in the past he’s taken on some of those curmudgeonly attributes?” Flipping things around.
There’s a love story between Young Agent K and Young Agent O’?
Alice Eve: It’s kind of the end of the love, the end of the affair, if you like. When she sends him off. And I think they both know it because for both of them their work comes first. They’re servants of a greater cause than love and themselves, this universal mission that they’re on. So when she sends him away, she knows she’ll never love like that again….it’s so sad, it makes me sad now (laughs). I think he really is the love of her life.
Josh, I have to ask, what was it like putting on the suit?
Josh Brolin: (Laughs) When I put on the suit, it’s the most surreal feeling in the world. It really is! It’s like a kid putting on a Superman suit.
Check out Alice’s recent interview with SheKnows about The Raven:
She played a “perfect 10″ in the crowd-pleasing comedy, She’s Out of My League, but that rating might be downplaying Alice Eve’s real-life charms. A beautiful, soft-spoken and quick-witted native of London, Eve got her start in British television, and in little-seen independent features like Stage Beauty and Big Nothing. Now she’s sharing the screen (and her heart) with John Cusack in The Raven, a brooding thriller that tracks Edgar Allan Poe’s efforts to find a serial murderer.
“Obviously, this is a fictitious account,” Eve jokes. “I play an amalgamation of the four muses who populated [Poe's] life. What I like about my character, Emily, is that she is very tenacious and intelligent and just as forward-thinking as Poe. No one else really ‘got’ Poe at the time, so she must have something going on upstairs.”
For Eve, Emily’s resourcefulness, independence and verve made the role an irresistible gift. And the opportunity to fall in love with leading man Cusack was an added bonus she won’t soon forget.
“John is a character,” Eve says with a smile. “We definitely went on a journey together, working these two people out. Working out, you know, if this is real love, and what they’d shared and what they hadn’t. For me, this was a real romance story… And he’s obviously an icon, so I felt very lucky to know and to work as closely with him as I did.”
It’s a rare romance, though, that buries its leading lady alive! In The Raven, Eve’s character battles not only her father’s disapproval of her relationship with Poe, but also a villain who locks her in an underground coffin and dares Poe to find her.
“We filmed [that sequence] in November,” Eve says. “Then we went back in January and did some more. It was horrific knowing, all of Christmas, that I was going to go back there in January — back into the box! It was pretty rough, but it was also cool to get to do it. Usually, if you’re buried alive, that’s gonna be the last time that happens, isn’t it?”
Above ground, Eve’s movements were constricted by 19th-century women’s fashion: petticoats, hoops, and corsets aplenty. But it didn’t take too long for her to get accustomed to the Victorian way of life.
“People are sort of fascinated by the corsets,” Eve says, “[but] I think they’re the same as high heels. Once you [embrace] something that is ‘no pain, no gain,’ then you just get used to it. We wear high heels like they don’t count, but they are terrible for you and they’re worse than corsets, really, because they affect your whole back. At least a corset keeps you straight.”
This summer, Eve will be seen in Men in Black III, trading quips with who else but Will Smith. But today, as The Raven prepares to spook moviegoers everywhere, its leading lady is focused on “boldly going” on a journey with JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel.
“I’m right in the middle of filming Star Trek, so my mind is on the girl I’m playing now. I want to keep her safe. I want to tell you everything about her, but I can’t tell you anything. I can’t tell you anything other than that she’s great!”
As her career continues to flourish with mainstream, big-budget successes, Eve says she’s proud to look back on the disciplined approach she took to learning her craft and on the value of the education that brought her where she is today.
“I became a careerwoman [after college], when my colleagues and peers were doing it, whether they were going off to do journalism in the city, or whatever it was. So I would recommend university to any young person. It’s the most important thing in the world. I don’t think I’d be anything without my education, really. Maybe funny, occasionally, but that’s all.”
The Raven flaps its wings on April 27.
Check out this recent interview with Alice’s Star Trek 2 co star, Chris Pine where he gives an update about Star Trek 2 and mentions that Alice has been reading Fifty Shades Of Grey:
Chris Pine is fully aware of the growing phenomenon surrounding the steamy novel “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and if the call came for the big screen star to play the title character, he just might say yes.
“I do know about ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ because Alice Eve, who’s in our film, [the ‘Star Trek’ sequel], has been reading it like crazy, so yeah, I’ve heard about it,” he told Access Hollywood at CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas on Monday.
When asked if he’d play the novel’s Christian Grey, the square-jawed hunk didn’t say no.
“It’d be a hell of a choice for me, I think,” he smiled. “It sounds like an interesting film.”
Chris is currently reprising his role as James T. Kirk in the J.J. Abrams helmed “Star Trek” sequel, and he said the film is going to impress.
“Of course I’m gonna tell you I think it’s gonna be better,” he laughed. “You pick up the characters from where they left off, and the development of the characters — I think — is just as exciting as the first one.
“And it’s relentless,” he added. “I think that’s the best adjective I can use.”
Chris said the team is actually close to wrapping up the second installment in the sci-fi reboot.
“We’re almost done,” he told Access. “It’s wrapping up very soon. It’s just as action-packed as the first one.”
Beyond talk of “Star Trek” and “The Twilight Saga”-inspired book, Chris was busy at CinemaCon promoting his upcoming movie, “Rise of the Guardians,” an animated feature, where he plays Jack Frost alongside a celebrated cast.
“It’s a great project,” he said. “I’m really happy to be a part of it… Alec Baldwin plays a crazy Russian Santa; Hugh Jackman is kind of the Australian acerbic bunny… It’s a good story about childhood and it’s a good story about belief and imagination … and what it means to believe.”
I have added three hq stills of Alice in The Raven. Alice attended the premiere for the movie on Monday. I have added those pics as well as press conference ones. Thanks to Renee for the hqs of the press conference.

Check out a bunch of videos of Alice in her upcoming film, The Raven which also includes an interview:
Alice did press junket recently for her upcoming film, The Raven. Check out two interviews she did with Access Hollywood where she talks about her other two upcoming films, Men & Black III and Star Trek 2:
Alice Eve may be promoting her latest performance in James McTeigue’s The Raven, but she’s also been hard at work on the set of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek 2. And while she can’t say too much about the hotly anticipated sci-fi sequel, she did mention her own personal ties with the franchise.
“The most touching thing to me about Star Trek is my grandfather, who’s no longer with us, was a huge fan of the series in the ’60s, and he would always watch it,” Eve told IGN’s Scott Collura in a recent interview. “That was kind of my only knowledge of seeing it. Of course, I knew of Patrick Stewart’s work. He’s a very well-respected actor. But no, I wasn’t really familiar with [Star Trek]. I had seen J.J.’s, though, so I knew a little bit. I’ve obviously become more familiar with Shatner and those guys. There are some really sweet, touching performances in that series, actually. Sometimes I’m really heartened by it.”
Eve also noted her enthusiasm for Abrams’ interpretation of the material, noting that his Star Trek “managed to transcend the shackles of the genre… I think that’s what they were probably always striving for. J.J.’s found a way to make the future accessible to the present. He’s able to track the story of the heart through this very heightened and stylized, tactical universe.”
Eve can be seen in The Raven alongside John Cusack next weekend starting April 27.
